See Teodoro Fittipaldi, Ceramiche: Castelli, Napoli, altre fabbriche, Museo di San Martino, Naples, 1992, vol. I, p. 36, no. 30 for an engraving of the print source published in 1590 by Jan Sadeler based on designs by Martin de Vos, from a series of drawings dedicated to the Story of David. See vol. II, p. 173, no. 288 for a slightly later Castelli plate illustrating the same subject.

The subject of the second panel is based on the parable of the Ten Virgins: Matthew 25:1-13. The latin inscription reads, Quae Pararae erant intrauerunt cum Eo ad Nuptias & clausa est iaue.
