ATTRIBUTED TO THE LENTINI GROUP, CIRCA 340 B.C.
The obverse with an Assembly of the Gods within an Ionic enclosure, with Apollo Kitharoidos seated to the left, his sister Artemis standing behind him, Zeus standing before him with a goddess, perhaps Hera or Aphrodite, seated beside him, Hermes to the right outside of the enclosure, Eros flying above, Apollo playing a kithara with duck head terminals, wearing a dotted himation low on his body, sandals and a beaded bandolier, a laurel wreath in his hair, Artemis wearing a chiton with a stepped overfold and a long zigzag edge along her proper right side, bejeweled in coiled bracelets, a beaded necklace and earrings, her hair bound in a sakkos, holding her bow in her left hand, Zeus standing with his legs crossed, his back turned out, leaning on a staff, his left arm extending towards Apollo, wearing a himation wrapped around his waist, sandals, a bracelet and a rosette fillet, the goddess with her right elbow on her knee, supporting her head in her hand, her left hand on the edge of a low table, clad in a crinkly diaphanous chiton, a himation around her waist with stars and crescents, and shoes, bejeweled in coiled bracelets, a beaded necklace and earrings, her hair in a sphendone, Hermes at ease, his right hand resting on a column, nude but for high fur-lined boots and a chlamys pinned by a circular brooch, with a beaded bandolier and a thin hair band, Eros nude, holding a phiale and a patera; a thin band of ovolo above and below, a band of elegant palmettes and lotus buds in the handle zones above a thin band of wave, petals on the handle-roots, a band of ivy and berries centered by a large rosette below the rim; the reverse with a satyr standing between two maenads, the satyr depicted frontally, his head turned to his right, his left arm akimbo, the right raised, holding a small white attribute, the maenad before him in a belted chiton and a himation, with a beaded necklace and earrings, her hair in a band with radiate leaves, the maenad to the right in a belted chiton, with coiled bracelets and a beaded necklace, her hair in a sphendone; reserved bands above and below; a band of stopt meander in the handle zones centered by a saltire square with triangles in the interstices, a thin band of wave below; radiating lines on the handle-roots, a band of laurel below the rim; details in added white, yellow and red
