With plain barrel with turned moulding at the breech, plain tang, border engraved flat bevelled lock with 'GR' cypher, stepped tail and roller, walnut full stock (left tip of fore-end with old chip) marked 'R. HOLLIS' beside the side-plate, brass mounts, and original iron ramrod (iron parts cleaned bright), Birmingham proof marks

Lot Essay
Richard and William Hollis are recorded as contractors to Ordnance supplying completed arms between 1812 and 1818, and rough stocked and set up arms in 1825.
