The circular top painted to simulate specimen inlaid woods and floral marquetry, the underside with paper label inscribed 'FINE ART & INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION NEWARK 18..8 No. of Entry 188, Mr James Riley Jubilee Street Newark Section 12 Class No. 103 IMITATION INLAID WOODS ON TABLE TOP' and inscribed in ink 'THIS IS THE PROPERTY OF WILFRED BROWN' and later etched 'LEA BROWN'
