Lot Essay

The engraved decoration, including architectural scenes and nature set within broad foliate borders places, typifies the work of Vizagapatam in the late 18th century. See Amin Jaffer, Furniture From British India and Ceylon, London, 2001, pp. 204, fig. 48.
