Lot Essay

The sculpteur-fondeur Paul-Henri Ledentu (1874-1951) studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and exhibited at the Paris Salon and later specialized in editing bronzes by sculptors such as Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux and Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse. A pair of candelabra of this model sold A Private West Coast Collection, Sotheby's, New York, 15 April 2011, lot 31 ($46,875).
