MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

Very similar inlay, using large sections of mother of pearl on a black lacquer ground, can be seen on a double chest and a coffer, both in the collection of O. Roche, esq., illustrated in Chinese Furniture, London, 1922, pls. VIII and XXII(a), respectively.
