Lot Essay

Li Guinian was a famous court musician in Chang'an during the Tang dynasty. After the Anlushan Rebellion, he was obliged to flee to the south, where he was reunited with the renowned poet Du Fu at a festive gathering. Du Fu celebrated this encounter in a well-known poem.
