A WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC BOWL AND A COVER
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The bowl with tapering sides carved in low relief with two taotie masks reserved on a leiwen band below a band of pendent blades and key fret encircling the rim, with a pair of animal mask and loop handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover carved with four taotie masks on a leiwen ground separated by notched flanges, which also divide the masks below four arched scrolls that rise to the sides of the circular finial; the foot of the bowl missing
