The compressed lower body tapering towards the cylindrical neck, covered on the exterior and interior with a crackle-suffused glaze of pale sky-blue color

Lot Essay

A blue-glazed vase of closely related size and shape, also bearing a Kangxi mark, is illustrated by J. Ayers, The Baur Collection: Chinese Ceramics, vol. III, Geneva, 1972, p. 183, no. A 317, and another, also with Kangxi mark, was included in the exhibition, Two thousand Years of Chinese Ceramics, Japan, 1992, no. 110.
