First issued in 1522, Fries's version of Waldseemüller's 1513 map of South Africa retains his outline and coastal nomenclature, while using the centre for a geographical fantasy which added mountain ranges and a new lake, fed by three rivers. There were later issues of the map in 1535 and 1541. FINE COPY WITH WIDE MARGINS. Norwich 150; Tooley p. 121.
