AN INSCRIBED OX-HORN HILTED DAGGER (KINJAL)
IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
Of typical form with watered steel single-edged blade with three engraved gutters with gold overlay floral decoration above the point and on the forte, with inscription on verso in nasta'liq, ox-horn hilt with three pins with filigree decoration and gilded knops, the back with silver coins, join in grip with studded border, leather covered wooden sheath with filigree and silver repoussé floral decorated fittings, the back with engraved horseman on top fitting, with leather belt attachments
