The single edged, curved finely watered-steel blade with two gold inlaid inscription cartouches, the 19th century Syrian curved bone hilt with silver cap on pommel and wide silver rain guards with rounded knop finials, the remainder of chain between pommel and rain guard, handle with four thin bands of engraved silver front and back with raised rosettes with inset turquoise stones, in 19th century wooden sheath with floral silver repoussé locket and chape and two belt hooks, middle section covered in red velvet, blade in good condition
