A PAIR OF GEORGE II SILVER SAUCEBOATS
MARK OF JOHN CHARTIER, LONDON, 1735
Each oval and on stepped conforming foot, with two double scroll handles and with an applied reeded band, each engraved to one side with two crests and later with a baron's coronet, each marked underneath, later faintly engraved with scratchweights '16-10' and '17-1'
8 9/16 in. (21.7 cm.) wide
32 oz. 18 dwt. (1,024 gr.)
The crests are those of Warren almost certainly for Edward Warren (1680-1737), of Poynton and Stockport, who succeeded his brother in 1729. He was High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1731. (2)

Sir George Warren K.B. (1735-1801), of Poynton and Stockport and then by descent to his only daughter
Elizabeth Harriet (1759-1826), wife of Thomas james, 7th Viscount Bulkeley (1752-1822), and bequethed on her death due to the mistaken belief that she was a distant cousin to
Francis Maria (d. 1837), only daughter and heir of Admiral the Right Hon. Sir John Borlase Warren of Stapleford, Nottinghamshire and wife of George Charles Venables-Vernon (1779-1835)
George Charles Venables-Vernon (1779-1835), who succeeded at 4th Lord Vernon in 1829, presumably when the baron's cornet was engraved and then by descent to
Francis, 9th Lord Vernon (1889-1963).
