The ewer is painted in the Ming style on either side with a shaped panel enclosing peaches and a fruiting lychee branch, each flanked by flowering lotus sprays, all above stylised lotus leaves and a classic scroll around the foot, the shoulder with a lotus scroll below a band of palmette leaves at the flaring neck, the arched handle with lingzhi sprays, the gently curving spout covered with dense leafy scrolls, Daoguang six-character mark to the base.
