Each piece painted with a variant flower specimen, the dark blue border banded in gold and further gilt with a symetrical berried and flowering vine, comprising:
Three compotes on stem foot, 8 3/8 in. (21.3 cm.) diameter
A deeper footed dish, 8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) diameter
Twenty dessert plates, 8½ in. (21.1 cm.) diameter (24)

Lot Essay

The present service may be the work of Lebon-Halley, in business on the rue Monmartre 1810-1822. See Christie's Paris, 7 July 2011, lot 334 for a marked example, similarly painted on a white ground, the compotes of similar form.
