A FINE WHITE JADE CARVING OF A MONKEY
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The stone is finely carved in the round in openwork to depict a seated monkey in a casual pose with its tail curled up at its back, a peach branch clutched in one hand extending over its shoulder. The stone is of an even white tone with minor russet inclusions to one arm.
2 7/8 in. (7 cm.) high
