A CARVED WHITE JADE 'MANDARIN DUCKS' GROUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The pebble is carved as two conjoined mandarin ducks facing opposite directions, the larger duck with a stalk of millet in its mouth. Their wings are intricately detailed with feathers. The stone is of an even white tone with minor areas of russet inclusions.
