Sammy Hagar
A red three piece suit, labelled Granny Takes A Trip, the single breasted jacket, trousers and waistcoat with red and white braid trim -- worn by Sammy Hagar on the cover of his self-titled second solo album; accompanied by a copy of the record Sammy Hagar, 1977, Capitol Records; and a document concerning the provenance from Tony Stevens (5)

Lot Essay

The red suit was made for Tony Stevens circa 1974 and he wore it many times on stage. When Sammy Hagar was in England in 1976, he and his wife stayed at Stevens' house. He was looking for something to wear for the photo shoot of his album, which featured the song Red, and found the red three piece suit in Stevens' wardrobe. He borrowed it for the shoot.
