The first with blade etched with the papal coat-of-arms and Latin inscriptions, pierced brass hilt, and wire-bound dark horn grip, with bullion sword-knot and original nickel-plated scabbard; together with another similar, with plain curved blade (knuckle-guard incomplete); a cavalry back-sword, possibly Swiss, mid-17th century, with curved blade, blackened iron hilt with side-ring and thumb-ring, the former filled with an embossed brass plate, brass wire-bound grip, and brass pommel chased in the form of lion's head and linked to the short quillon by a chain; two Swiss Model 1899 service swords, one with pipe-backed blade, the other dated '1908' with leather finger-loop inside the guard, each in a steel scabbard; a Swiss officer's stirrup-hilted sword, with etched blade, in original steel scabbard; a Japanese Wakisashi, iron tsuba decorated with two cranes and a waterfall, brass mounts including collar decorated with a carp, and shagreen-covered grip, in dark horn mounted saya covered with polished and lacquered rayskin; a military practice sabre; a fencing foil; a decorative medieval broadsword; the mounts and saya from a late export katana (grip broken); and an ear-defence from a decorative armour
