A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A HORSE
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
The horse is shown standing foursquare on a flat, rectangular base with the head turned slightly to the left. It is detailed with a hogged mane, and is fitted with an ornamented bridle and harness. It is glazed in amber, cream and green tones, with the exception of the saddle and cloth, which are unglazed, and show remnants of red pigment.
