Lot Essay

The form of this bottle, its execution in deep coloured glass, and its decoration with wheel-cut designs are shared by a bottle in the Corning Museum of Glass (Stefano Carboni, Glass of the Sultans, New York, 2001, no.95, pp.190-91). Our bottle also closely relates to one formerly in the Madina Collection, sold in these Rooms, 12 October 2004, lot 46.
