An illustration from the Shahnama of Firdousi, Khusraw sits upon his gold and silver throne beneath a canopy recieving an ambassador who comes bearing trays of jewels, a large blossoming tree behind them, with lines of nasta'liq above and below arranged in four columns with double gold intercolumnar rule, one heading in blue nasta'liq, verso with 19ll. of similar nasta'liq arranged horizontally and on the diagonal, small panels of floral illumination between, mounted, framed and glazed
