TWO CALLIGRAPHIC PANELS (QIT'AS)
IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
The first a panel with two lines of large black thuluth script above and below a central panel with two lines of smaller black naskh, written on silver-speckled pink paper, two panels at either extremity with signature of Muhammad bin Abu al-Baqa' al-Harawi and date of 950, between gold and polychrome illuminated spandrels, the panel laid down on purple cardboard with gold and silver floral illumination, the second with a line of large black thuluth script above a panel with two lines of smaller black naskh script, signed 'Abdullah Harawi in the lower right hand side corner, with polychrome illuminated panels, laid down on marbled paper covered cardboard, minor staining otherwise in good condition
