OTTOMAN TURKEY, DATED AH 1292/1875-6 AD
Arabic manuscript on paper, the ijaza with a top panel of large black thuluth script, two lines of black naskh script below, each within cloud bands, bordered at either side and below with rounded medallions, each with signature of the scribe's teacher reading as (from right to left) 'Ali al-Shukri, Muhammad Shafiq and Sami, laid down on cardboard panel with gold illuminated floral margins, framed and glazed, frame loose, in very good condition
Calligraphy 4¾ x 7 1/8in. (12 x 18.3cm.)
