A RARE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL HEXAGONAL VASE, HU
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The elegant vase is formed with facetted sides, broad shoulders and a waisted neck rising towards a flaring mouth rim. Each side of the body is finely decorated with various scenes including farming, fishing, and dwellings within mountainous, cloudy and rocky landscapes. The shoulders are applied with intricately detailed gilt-bronze mounts modelled as miniature antiques. The neck, decorated with blooming flowers growing among stylised rocks, is set with a pair of tubular handles depicting stylised chilong.
