A SMALL GILT-BRONZE AND CHAMPLEVÉ ENAMEL 'PRUNUS' BRUSH POT

The brush pot is formed as a section of a tree trunk naturalistically depicted with whorls. There are gnarled branches of flowering prunus blossoms and leafy bamboo stalks to the exterior. The interior and base of the brush pot is gilt.
3¼ in. (8.3 cm.) high
Provenance
Formerly in the collection of Rosemary and Monty Lazenby amassed in the early 20th century, and thence by descent. The remainder of the collection may be seen at Marble Hill House, South West London.
