A FAMILLE ROSE 'HUNDRED BATS' VASE
GUANGXU IRON-RED SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1875-1908)
The pear-shaped vase has a slightly compressed globular body rising to a tall neck with a flared rim. The vase is brightly decorated overall with bats in flight amidst ruyi-head cloud scrolls, divided at the shoulder by a band of shou-character surrounded by a leafy lotus scroll.
