Lot Essay

With Rolex, Genève, original invoice dated 22 October 1951, Rolex original guarantee dated 22 October 1951 and Bureaux Officiels de Contrôle de la Marche des montres for movement no. 22'611 dated 22 june 1951 and envelope.

Consigned by a private collector, the present watch, a Ref. 6090, is a very fine example of the so-called "Bombé" references, French for "domed", referring to the unusual shape of the lugs of this model.
