A similar pair of vases in the Pilaster Room at Pavlosk is illustrated in A. Kuchumov, Pavlosk Palace and Park, 1975, no. 201. Another pair now in the Hermitage Museum was supplied to Emperor Paul I by the dealer Guillaume Culot. A third pair was sold by Yves Mikaeloff, Christie's New York, 21 May 1997, lot 412 and a further pair, reputedly given by Prince Murat (d. 1944), thence by descent to Baron Lejeune, was sold anonymously, Christie's London, 2 December, 1998, lot 91.
