Full tree calf, spine gilt in compartments and with green morocco labels, sides with gilt border and centred with the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle, gilt edges (extremities rubbed, some gilt lost, label removed from upper side). Provenance: Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich (1827-1892; bookplate, pressmark).
GRAND DUKE KONSTANTIN NIKOLAEVICH'S COPY, from his library at the Marble Palace. Grand Duke Konstantin was Tsar Nicholas I's second son, and brother of Alexander II whom he assisted greatly in his efforts to emancipate the serfs. Ivask vol. 1, ill. 11.
