TATIANA NIKOLAEVNA (1897-1918) -- Komitet Eia Imperatorskago Vysochestva Velikoi Kniazhny Tatiany Nikolaevny po okazaniiu vremennoi pomoshchi postradavshim ot voennykh bedstvii, 14 Sentiabria 1914g.-Ianvar 1916g. [Committee of Her Highness Tatiana Nikolaevna for the Relief of Victims of Disasters of War.] Volume 1 (all published). St. Petersburg: State Press, 1916.
4° (345 x 260mm). Frontispiece portrait, a plate reproducing Tatiana's handwriting, and 87 plates of photographic reproductions, most with two images per plate. (Frontispiece detached, margins browned, a few short marginal tears and occasional light soiling.) Original blue cloth, upper side with the cipher of Tatiana surmounted by the Imperial eagle, spine and upper side titled in gilt, white moiré-style endpapers (light wear). Provenance: The Classroom of the Older Grand Duchesses at Alexander Palace (manuscript label, with inventory number 62).
THE ALEXANDER PALACE COPY, FROM THE CLASSROOM OF THE OLDER GRAND DUCHESSES -- that is of Tatiana Nikolaevna herself, and her older sister Ol'ga. Tatiana became a Red Cross nurse at the outbreak of the Great War, and became the patron of benevolent committees nationwide; these are documented, along with Tatiana's related correspondence, in this richly illustrated album. RARE: WorldCat lists just one copy, in the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign; not in Copac.
