TWO CHINESE PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
DAOGUANG IRON RED FOUR-CHARACTERS MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-50)
One bottle is of a flattened pear shape, and is delicately painted on each side with a brightly enamelled grasshopper. The other bottle is of a rounded shape, with twin monster-head handles, and is brightly enamelled to one side with two magpies in flight by a willow tree on a rocky promontory above foaming waves, the reverse is decorated with auspicious bats in flight amongst waves beside rockwork.
