TWO CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL HEXAGONAL JARDINIÈRES
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-95)
The larger jardinière is supported on four ruyi-shaped short bracket feet, and is applied on each side with a quatrefoil panel enclosing figures in a landscape scene, all surrounded by scrolling lotus reserved on a turquoise ground. The smaller jardinière is decorated to each side with archaistic designs, enclosing stylised auspicious bats, which are reserved on a turquoise ground embellished with flowers on curly leaves.
