Another portrait of the same sitter by Lequeutre wearing a red dress and dated 1830 was exhibited at the Albertina, Vienna, Internationale Miniaturen-Austellung in der Albertina Wien, 1924, no. 546 (lent by Dr F. Herzberg, Vienna).
This is part of a series of five large miniatures by Lequeutre in impressive ormolu frames by Alphonse Giroux depicting the French Royal family during their exile in Frohsdorf Castle, Austria. The miniatures of the sitter's children, Henri, Comte de Chambord and Princess Louise of France, were sold Christie's, London, 7 December 2004, lots 380 and 381, respectively. Those depicting the sitter's brother-in-law, the Duc d'Angoulême, and his wife Madame Royale, are still kept in the family and were illustrated in G. Englebert, 'Frohsdorf ou les souvenirs du Comte de Chambord, L'Eventail, no. 18, December 1988, pp. 54-55. For further information, see B. Hofstetter (supra).
