Charles-Ferdinand of Bourbon (1778-1820), Duc de Berry, in dark green uniform with red collar, silver epaulettes, black stock, wearing the breast-star of the Royal French Order of Saint Esprit and the badges of Saint Louis, the Lily and the Legion of Honour
on ivory
oval, 3½ in. (90 mm.) high, gilt-metal mount with stamped surround, within rectangular wood frame applied with two glazed oval reserves containing locks of hair, gilt-metal surrounds engraved 'Charles Ferdinand 13 Fevrier 1820.' and 'Caroline Ferdinande 14 Fevrier 1820.', gilt-metal plaque engraved 'Donné à Mgr l'Evêque de Chartres, Par S.A.R. Madame la Dsse de Berry', and gilt fleur-de-lys spandrels
