The present wall-lights or appliques closely relate to the oeuvre of the bronzier Jacques Caffieri (1678-1755) in the mid-18th Century. Related wall-lights were delivered by Caffieri to the Princess Louise Elisabeth de Parme for her estate of Colorno near Parma circa 1752. A pair of these appliques are now in the chateau de Versailles. Another examples are illustrated in H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröchel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, Vol. I, pp. 140-141.
