A FRENCH ENGRAVED BRASS STRIKING AND REPEATING CARRIAGE CLOCK
MID-19TH CENTURY, ATTRIBUTED TO PAUL GARNIER, NO.1453
With fully engraved one-piece case, the dial with day, date and alarm, the three-train movement with chaff cutter escapement, striking and repeating on a bell, the backplate numbered '1453', shuttered rear panel, replaced top panel engraved with an 'N', original travel case
5½ in. (14 cm.) high, handle down; 4 1/8 in. (10.5 cm.) wide; 3½ in. (8.3 cm.) deep
