An Inlaid Celadon Stoneware Bowl
Goryeo dynasty (13th century)
The wide bowl inlaid on the interior with four cranes, their legs, bills and tips of some feathers in black and the rest of their bodies in white, and placed opposite one another amongst white clouds arranged in rows; the cavetto inlaid in black and white with a chrysanthemum floret within double lines and rings of bullocho heads, and a further band of foliage just below the rim; the exterior inlaid in white with black details with four chrysanthemum medallions within scrolling foliage and between borders of stiff leaves, lines and foliage; the entire bowl also decorated with a celadon glaze
