A LARGE GREYISH-WHITE JADE BELT HOOK
LATE MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The belt hook is finely carved with a chilong with undulating body grasping a leafy lingzhi sprig in its jaws as it crawls towards the dragon head that forms the hook, its ears well hollowed and the mane finely carved on the reverse where there is a large flower-form button. Together with a smaller pale greenish-white jade belt hook carved with a similar design.
