A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE 'MELON' PENDANT
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved on one side from the white area of the stone as two melons borne on a leafy stem pendent above a butterfly, and on the convex reverse with large leaves highlighted by the russet color in the stone, which is further emphasized by a higher polish.
2 in. (5.1 cm.) long, cord with glass beads
