A SMALL PAINTED STUCCO BUDDHIST STELE
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
Of rectangular shape, the front is carved in high relief with Buddha seated on a waisted pedestal between two bodhisattvas within a deep niche flanked by three registers of seated Buddhas. A panel below encloses two tigers seated either side of a lotus spray. All is painted in dark red, green, black, white and dark blue.
