A RARE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A WRATHFUL DEITY
18TH CENTURY
The four-armed protector deity is shown standing in alidhasana amidst bones scattered atop the swirling water cast on the top of the separate rockwork base, as he holds two vajras above his head, and a branch in his lower left hand, while his lower right hand is in harina mudra. His face is cast with a violent expression below his crown of skulls behind which rises his flaming red hair. He also wears jewelry and a painted tiger-skin apron below his bulging belly.
