DAOGUANG/XIANFENG PERIOD (1821-1861)

According to S. Jenyns, Later Chinese Porcelain, London, 1951, pl. CXII (1), where a bowl of this pattern in the British Museum is illustrated, the mark identifies it as "part of a service made for a granddaughter of Tao Kuang who married a Mongolian prince of the Tumed Banner." The author further notes, p. 72, that the set was made at the Imperial factories to celebrate the marriage.
