The bulbous bodies are finely enameled in mirror image with a continuous band comprising two scenes of boys at play which are separated by a wave-form rock and bamboo; in one scene three boys are accompanied by three goats (sanyang), while in the other scene two boys carrying lanterns, possibly celebrating the New Year, are shown in a garden setting. There are narrow borders of flower scroll above and below and decorative bands on the broad, flared neck. A four-character auspicious phrase in seal characters, linzhi chengxiang, is written in iron red on the base.
