Lot Essay

This work, composed circa 1420 AD in Tunisia for the Hafsid ruler Abu Faris 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Mutawwakil, is a well-known treatise on the qualities men and women should have to be attractive as well as a guide on sexual practices. It was first translated in English, from French by Burton as "The Perfumed Garden" in 1886.
