CIRCA 1855
With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with sprays of scrollwork at the breech and cut with multi-groove rifling, case-hardened cylinder engraved with a band of running foliage at the front edge, blued border and scroll engraved frame, case-hardened engraved hammer and blued sprung hammer-safety, blued trigger, chequered walnut grips, sprung plunger rammer engraved with a flower-head, and border and scroll engraved trigger-guard and butt-cap, the latter with hinged trap-cover, much original finish throughout (blueing to frame and trigger-guard faded and discoloured), Birmingham proof marks
