A FINELY CARVED SOAPSTONE PENTAFOIL VESSEL
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The exterior of the vessel is finely carved with quatrefoil-shaped cartouches enclosing floral sprays including lotus, chrysanthemum, prunus, and magnolia. The stone is of a deep red tone, with an intricate network of lighter and darker inclusions. The white metal cover incised to the top with a cluster of flowers.
