A PAIR OF LARGE INSCRIBED BLUE AND WHITE GU-FORM VASES
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The neck of each vase is decorated with pendant leaves enclosing flower heads and scrolling leaves. The mid-section and the splayed foot of each vase are painted in vibrant shades of cobalt blue to depict floral sprays interspersed by poetic inscriptions which eulogize the beauty and elegance of the flowers, all below birds in flight.
