A LATE MING CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL DRAGON AND PHOENIX DISH
WANLI PERIOD (1573-1619)
The central interior medallion is decorated with a dragon and a phoenix contesting the flaming pearl amongst ruyi-clouds and flames, encircled by a band of horses and qilin amid foaming waves. The exterior is decorated with a similar band, the centre of the base is decorated with lotus and cast with an apocryphal four-character Jingtai mark.
